Raising awareness of cancer among teenagers
The Teenage Cancer Trust is a UK-based charity that aims to ensure that every young person with cancer and their family receive the best possible care and professional support throughout their cancer journey. The Trust also empowers young people through education and advocacy.
Simon Hewett-Avison works for the Teenage Cancer Trust in the south west. He delivers presentations to raise awareness of cancer among teenagers and young adults. He is flexible in his delivery and can work with large year groups or small classes, depending upon the needs of the school. This lesson plan highlights the learning objectives and outcomes that his presentations seek to meet. His sessions are presented in an interactive, positive, upbeat way.
